Exosomes are not living stem cells

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound particles released by cells. “Exosome” usually refers to a subset of EVs, although commercial terminology is often inconsistent. Cell-conditioned media, purified EV preparations, and products marketed as exosomes should not be treated as the same thing.
