Skin boosters are not one treatment

“Skin booster” is a broad marketing and treatment category. In Korea, the term may refer to HA-based products, PN/PDRN products, collagen-stimulating injectables, PRP, and other approaches. Products that appear under the same label can differ substantially in ingredients, dose, depth, purpose, evidence, and risk.

Skin booster, biostimulator, or filler?

  • Skin boosters. often used for hydration, texture, glow, and fine lines.
  • Biostimulators. used to stimulate tissue remodelling and collagen over time.
  • Fillers. primarily used for volume and contour.

The boundaries are not always clean, so the exact product matters more than the category label.

What to confirm

  • exact brand and ingredient
  • total cc, vial, or syringe count
  • injection depth and treatment area
  • provider
  • expected onset and number of sessions
  • bruising, swelling, or temporary bumps
  • aftercare
  • what happens if nodules, inflammation, infection, or other complications occur

Safety note

Injectables have product- and technique-specific risks. Fillers can rarely cause vascular occlusion with serious consequences. Collagen-stimulating products can cause nodules or inflammatory reactions if unsuitable amounts or depths are used.
