Juvelook and collagen stimulators

Rebuild your own collagen, gradually

Juvelook, developed in Korea, is PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) microspheres with hyaluronic acid, mixed before injection into the dermis so your skin produces its own collagen over time. Small bumps, redness, swelling or bruising usually settle within a few days. A course is usually 2–3 sessions about 4–6 weeks apart, so one trip can start it and later sessions can follow on a return visit.

Four soft bands of skin seen in cross-section, with four numbered markers showing the depth each treatment reaches: two injectables in the dermis, a radiofrequency glow spreading through the dermis into the fat, and focused ultrasound points down to the SMAS layer.
  1. Rejuran (polynucleotide, PN). Fine injections into the dermis, the skin's own living layer.
  2. Juvelook (PDLLA + hyaluronic acid). Injected into the deep dermis or just beneath it; tiny particles prompt your own collagen over the following weeks.
  3. Thermage (monopolar radiofrequency). Heat delivered through the surface, spreading through the deep dermis into the fibrous strands of the fat beneath.
  4. Ulthera (micro-focused ultrasound, MFU-V). Ultrasound focused to points at set depths (1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm), reaching the SMAS, the layer surgeons lift in a facelift.

Good to know

  • Results build over several weeks rather than on the day, so do not judge the outcome straight away.
  • Massage the area only if and as your clinic instructs; for Sculptra this is part of the aftercare.
  • Not during pregnancy, and not where there is an active skin infection or inflamed acne.
  • Nodules can form if the product sits too superficially, which is why an experienced injector matters; your doctor decides the product and depth at consultation.

Questions

How is this different from filler?

Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume immediately. Collagen stimulators work more slowly by prompting your skin to make its own collagen, and Ellansé does a bit of both.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually 2–3 sessions about 4–6 weeks apart, though your doctor may suggest a different plan for your skin.

Juvelook or Juvelook Volume?

Juvelook works in the dermis for texture, pores and fine scars. Juvelook Volume is placed deeper to restore volume in areas such as the cheeks and temples.

Can I fly home the next day?

Generally yes. Small bumps or bruising may still be visible for a few days, so allow for that if you have plans soon after.
